The 2019 LeanIX US EA Connect Day is over. Though a single-day event, we counted 60+ global attendees who joined eight varieties of sessions on using data-driven Enterprise Architecture to conduct digital business strategies. Of note, this conference served as an opportunity for LeanIX to formally introduce a number of our tool’s new/improved features—each one of which is briefly described in this blog post.

To meet expectations of business, today’s CIOs must make strategic decisions about their company’s IT architecture, and use the tools available to the company innovative and competitive. By now, you’ve heard about microservices many times. The hype around microservices isn’t baseless, microservice architectures have proven to be critical to the success of many enterprises.

CIOs create measurable value by delivering IT capabilities that are in tune with business priorities. In the age of rapid digital transformation, CIOs should gauge all possible tools and trends including artificial intelligence, machine learning, IoT and the cloud, to find money saving and market-leading innovative opportunities.

The EU General Data Protection Regulation is causing headaches in C suites across the world. This regulation aims to protect all European citizens from privacy and data breaches, and secure their information. Information security and risk management is a top issue for CIOs. The impending regulation is a top concern for US companies too, with some 77% companies willing to spend $1 million or more on GDPR readiness plans or worse, shut down their European operations to protect themselves from expensive penalties.

This year’s Gartner Enterprise Architecture & Technology Innovation Summit in London was all about how to master the increasing complexities of digital business. With tracks focusing on Disruptive Technologies, Architecting Digital Business Platforms and Becoming an Innovative Leader as well as of course Mastering Enterprise Architecture, the summit was THE key event for EA leaders.

The North American Gartner Enterprise Architecture & Technology Innovation Summit takes place on 31 May and 1 June this year. Enterprise Architects and Technology Leaders gather in Orlando, FL to discuss how digital is transforming every part of the organization. Digital business platforms are emerging as the approach to digital innovation combining five interdependent elements - ecosystem, customers, things, IT systems and intelligence.

"I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious," Albert Einstein said once. He wanted to express that curiosity is crucial for understanding highly complex topics. If you are curious, you  strive to understand things, exchange ideas and discuss methods of resolution  with others. Thus the exchange of information is an indispensable   characteristic for intelligence. The exchange of ideas is indespensible for conferences, just as it is for LeanIX: It is all coming together at the ServiceNow® conference Knowledge17.

This year’s Lean Conference is took place in Munich on November the 15th. This is one of the major conferences addressing the issue of Lean Enterprise Architecture Management in Germany and of course LeanIX couldn’t miss it.

At this year’s Gartner EA Summit in London LeanIX launched its brand new iPhone app. From now on, LeanIX users have the option to access their data anywhere and to receive notifications and send comments. With our app LeanIX tapped into the trend of the event – during the opening keynote Gartner’s Dennis Gaughan and Betsy Burton were advising IT architects and IT leaders to have new perspectives on Enterprise Architecture Management. This year’s Forrester Digital Transformation Forum dealt with the whole scope of digitization topics organizations have to take care of. Forrester Vice President Martin Gill claimed from the beginning that being just customer-centric is not enough nowadays. He showed examples of techniques how companies can understand their customers as thoroughly as is necessary today – and preferably improve their products together with their customers. This was elaborated on during the two days of the event in presentations around subjects like API strategies, risks and chances of blockchains, Internet of Things, but also new data security requirements. The chosen topics confirmed once more how necessary the close integration of business and IT is in times of digital transformation, as well as the ability to react promptly to changing customer requests.
