LeanIX has been recognized as a Challenger by Gartner in its 2020 Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools. The announcement comes near the end of a high-growth year for both LeanIX and the enterprise architecture (EA) tool market itself — a period which saw the demand for business outcome-oriented IT management increase throughout industries. LeanIX’s 2020 product roadmap included the release of its Business Transformation Management module and the arrival of new integrations with Diagramming Solutions and IT Financial Management (ITFM). These developments and more have been aided by the SaaS vendor’s closing of a Series D funding round led by Goldman Sachs, which brought the total funding to $120 million.

“Nine years ago, we founded LeanIX to challenge the traditional thinking, processes and tools used in EA. This recognition is a great milestone of our journey,” said André Christ, CEO and Co-founder of LeanIX.  “With LeanIX, EA is accessible to everyone-- every user and every organization. Our focus for bringing an intuitive user experience, open APIs and out-of-the-box reports were instrumental towards reaching this goal. With the ongoing digital transformation, it’s crucial that insights provided by an EA tool can be consumed widely within the organization. With our recently launched Business Transformation Management (BTM) module we take this principle to the next level. It enables organizations to break down their strategic objectives to architecture plans, create scenarios, plan roadmaps and execute transformation programs successfully.”

Financials

  • LeanIX completed an $80 million round of Series D funding in 2020 which has since opened new opportunities for helpings its customers’ ambitious architectural projects. This financial security is helping accelerate LeanIX's product innovation and its integration to software throughout the IT management tooling ecosystem.

Customer Success

  • LeanIX offers dedicated tool implementation services to support clients during multi-year projects. For topics such as digital transformation or cloud migration, LeanIX teams make sure their customers are using the product as effectively as possible in order to generate quick time to value after implementation. In 2020, their customer success program has been expanded to include LeanIX Professional Services — a team of dedicated EA consultants with in-depth EA tool expertise.

Integrations

  • Integrations to other industry-leading software are a key element of LeanIX's business strategy and made possible thanks to its Integration API. In 2020, the variety of tools has expanded to include ITFM- and diagramming-related solutions.

Innovation at LeanIX aims to address the timely needs of the vendor’s current and future customers. This means executing upon customer-oriented product features and improvements with high regularity while ensuring a balance between ease-of-use and technical rigor. Change roadmaps are based on feedback gained during customer-vendor touch points, and in-house implementation technicians are offered to streamline time-to-value and accelerate EA maturity for customer organizations.

This is LeanIX’s second consecutive year in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Architecture Tools. Last year, LeanIX was named as a Visionary in the report.
