Our enterprise architecture AI Assistant has now entered its beta program for LeanIX users. We're buzzing with excitement over the possibilities of this tool for the future of enterprise architecture.
JOIN THE BETA PROGRAM: LeanIX AI Assistant
Please note this will only be available to existing LeanIX EAM admin users, and, since it is the beta for the product, the functionality and appearance may change before general release.
It's hard to believe that we only announced our AI Assistant last month. Still, there's already a number of use cases in which LeanIX AI Assistant can completely transform the way organizations interact with enterprise architecture management and gain a competitive edge.
The power of generative artificial intelligence (AI) enables us to use a dedicated generative pre-trained transformer (GPT) large language model. This automates documentation tasks, accelerates data usage, and speeds up research.
Unlike other GPT interfaces, however, the LeanIX AI Assistant is powered by dedicated GPT models hosted in Microsoft’s Azure OpenAI Service. Not only does this mean your data is protected by Azure’s security and enterprise promise, but we also don't use your data to retrain our AI Assistant, so it will remain confidential.
This tool is just getting started and the functionality, scope, look, and feel will develop before the official launch. However, the more-than 65,000 requests the AI Assistant has received so far show how useful enterprise architects are finding these features.

The LeanIX AI Assistant
LeanIX customers can register for the AI Assistant beta program through our public roadmap now. This program is available to all existing LeanIX admin users.
Once users have access, they can leverage a series of predefined prompts to help manage their enterprise architecture. You can see an example of such prompts below. Customers can also make custom requests against their EA data.
To celebrate the launch of the program, let's consider four of the powerful features our AI Assistant already offers beta users:
1. Creating App Descriptions
One of the predefined prompts available in the beta version of the AI Assistant is designed to generate a descriptive summary of each application in your portfolio. The Assistant can automatically populate the description field of each application based on Fact Sheet data.
To execute this feature, view all your applications that don't have a description and use the prompt "create description in 2 sentences". The AI Assistant will generate a description of the application and a link to the vendor website.
2. Finding Alternative Applications That Are A Better Fit
You can also filter your applications based on those marked as having an "unreasonable" functional fit. From there, you can choose the prompt "research top 5 alternative technologies and link to them".
The AI Assistant will check application listings to find five best-of-breed apps that could replace each of these apps. It will also link you to the vendor website for further information.
3. Making Enterprise Architecture Recommendations
One of the most impressive uses of our new AI Assistant prepares simple decision lists for you to report back to the C-suite. This lets you analyze your product portfolio for quick wins and necessary immediate choices for you to run through.
To do this, choose the key applications that require your attention and use the prompt: "architecture recommendation for executive decision, details as bullets". This will generate an itemized, bulleted list of quick-win decisions you can present to your leadership.
4. Creating API Examples In Python
Increasingly, generative AI is being seen as a useful tool for supporting developers. The AI Assistant can help your developers work more effectively with LeanIX EAM.
For this, select the data object you wish to create an API for and using the prompt "create REST API example as python script" will create an example Python API to guide your developers.
