G2’s Spring 2026 Grid® Report has once again recognized SAP LeanIX for its leadership in six key areas. Hear from real EAs about how we’re supporting them.
We’re thrilled to once again be recognized by G2 for our leadership in the enterprise architecture and application portfolio management categories. It’s an honor to be recognized, but it’s even better to know this recognition is based on data from real enterprise architects.
G2’s Grid® Reports are released on a quarterly basis, and highlight solutions with the “most satisfied customers and largest presence in the market.” This is the 15th consecutive quarter that has seen SAP LeanIX listed for leadership in enterprise architecture, and the 9th for application portfolio management.
The reviews of SAP LeanIX on G2 speak for themselves and sum up what our solution does quite elegantly. One of the users who gave SAP LeanIX five stars out of five, highlighted its "intuitive design and effortless interface," while another five-star reviewer applauded our solution’s “ability to offer a structured framework that helps define a target architecture and develop a transformation plan."
This kind of feedback from practicing enterprise architects is particularly gratifying for us. It's what makes the recognition from G2 so special. But more than that, it's a reminder of the value EAs realize using SAP LeanIX to address real enterprise architecture and application portfolio management challenges.
Before digging into what reviewers said, let’s take a closer look at the data G2 collected about our solution.
What our six G2 leadership badges mean
The Spring 2026 Grid® Report is published by G2, the world’s largest software marketplace. G2 is visited by 80 million software buyers each year and publishes a quarterly report on their most popular software.
The G2 Spring 2026 Grid® Report awarded SAP LeanIX six leadership badges in enterprise architecture and application portfolio management as follows:
-

The badges represent levels of satisfaction and market presence across different cohorts and are based on G2’s proprietary algorithm, factoring in social, web, employee, and review data.
Here are some of the reviews that helped place us so highly in these six reports.
"Full IT visibility and efficient transformation"
One four-star review from a customer in the consumer goods industry focused on the powerful visibility SAP LeanIX affords enterprise architects:
“I love how SAP LeanIX gives full visibility into your IT landscape — it’s collaborative, data‑driven, and AI‑enabled, helping you drive architecture decisions and streamline transformation efficiently.”
The reviewer also pointed out the power of SAP LeanIX to cut through IT complexity to enable informed decisions, reduce cost and risk, and ensure that IT efforts effectively support the business:
“SAP LeanIX solves the problem of IT‑landscape complexity by giving a unified, real‑time view of applications, risks, and dependencies — helping you make smarter decisions, reduce tech debt, and align IT with business strategy.”
"Boosts visibility and collaboration"
The G2 Spring 2026 Grid® Report awarded us a badge for leadership in application portfolio management, and the reviews showcase why. One reviewer rated SAP LeanIX four point five out of five, saying “I really like SAP LeanIX for the transparency it brings to our architecture”:
“I also find the application portfolio management and technology lifecycle features particularly valuable, as they help identify redundancies, track technology obsolescence, and plan future investments in a more strategic manner.”
The reviewer went on to highlight the diagramming capabilities of SAP LeanIX:
“The visualization tools make it incredibly easy to understand the relationships between applications and business processes, which is crucial for strategic decision-making.”
The diagramming tools were, however, just one of the capabilities that supported the reviewer in aligning IT with the rest of the business:
“The ability to generate reports that effectively communicate insights to stakeholders is another highlight, ensuring that everyone is on the same page. Moreover, the collaborative features are incredibly valuable."
They finished by expressing how easy SAP LeanIX was to implement:
“The initial setup was quite smooth, aided by guided setup tools and templates, making a potentially complex process quite straightforward and easy to follow.”
"Essential tool for road map planning"
The G2 Spring 2026 Grid® Report highlighted reviews that praised all the features of our solution. This included the tools we offer to help you plan for the future of your IT landscape.
A five-star review appreciated SAP LeanIX for “its ability to offer a structured framework that helps define a target architecture and develop a transformation plan”.
He went on to explain:
“I find great value in its capability to link business capabilities directly to solutions, promoting transparency that helps in reducing IT spend and managing risks effectively. Additionally, the inclusion of the SAP reference architecture is a highlight as it provides a comprehensive blueprint for aligning business processes.”
Our SAP reference architecture is key for those documenting their SAP application landscape. Yet, as the reviewer explained, SAP LeanIX is also used to capture key dimensions of IT management:
“I use SAP LeanIX for road map planning, enabling transparency, reducing IT spend, managing risks, and linking business capabilities to solutions.”
"Real-time IT visibility & effortless architecture planning"
Yet another positive review that drove our placement in the G2 Spring 2026 Grid® Report showcased the power of SAP LeanIX as a source of reliable, real-time information. The reviewer’s positive sentiment on our solution was simple and clear:
“I like SAP LeanIX for its clear, real-time visibility into the IT landscape, easy-to-use interface, and strong support for application rationalization and architecture planning.”
That sentence speaks for itself, but the reviewer went on to write:
“SAP LeanIX helps map and manage the IT landscape, identify redundant or risky applications, and support architecture and transformation planning. This improves decision-making, reduces costs, ensures compliance, and accelerates IT modernization initiatives.”
Already leading, but still improving
You need over 50 reviews to be listed in the G2 Spring 2026 Grid® Report. SAP LeanIX has nearly 200, and the overwhelming majority are positive. Of course, like any solution, we still have room to improve.
One user noted “SAP LeanIX may initially seem daunting, particularly for newcomers working with extensive environments”, while another said “the biggest challenge for me as enterprise Architect is to establish the tool in the whole business”. As it turns out, this is another area – adoption – where we actively strive to support our customers.
We likewise pride ourselves on being open and responsive to customer feedback. We recently responded to a suggestion on our community forum, adding the requested feature in just two weeks.
As another review put it:
”LeanIX culture [is] always open, modern, [and] agile. Customer Success Management takes their mission seriously, always focusing on customer needs and improvements - absolutely valuable.”
We already have six leadership badges in the G2 Spring 2026 Grid® Report, but that’s not enough for us. We’re always adding new features, expanding the capabilities of SAP LeanIX, and endeavoring to become an even better solution for enterprise architects.
