Implementing AI governance tools that match a mission-focused strategy

SAP LeanIX solutions help empower the mission-first business to apply its core values to its AI governance strategy. They provide AmTrust with tools that help guide the responsible and effective use of AI across the entire business, as well as support for the company’s AI Governance Council.

AmTrust’s journey with SAP LeanIX solutions began in 2018. The business implemented the solutions for its application inventory capabilities and later expanded them to tackle technology risk and architectural governance. In 2024, with the introduction of the EU AI Act, AmTrust turned again to SAP LeanIX solutions to guide the business through a time of rapid technology change.

SAP LeanIX solutions directly address the new regulatory requirements by enabling AmTrust to tag applications as “AI enhanced” or “AI utilized” as well as assign risk levels. The company used the solutions to create a clear inventory and governance structure that’s prepared for audits.

The company’s initial transformation of enterprise architecture management with SAP LeanIX solutions enhanced application inventory management, improved technology risk management, and streamlined architectural governance. The AI governance project has introduced similarly transformative results that will grow over time as the company implements more AI applications.

SAP LeanIX solutions have met AmTrust exactly where it is at every point of its AI governance journey. This began with leveraging SAP LeanIX solutions along with Microsoft SharePoint, which was where the company’s AI Governance Council managed AI use cases. Supporting this council has further strengthened the AI governance strategy, helping ensure cross-functional representation spanning legal, compliance, data, architecture, and business. In the future, AmTrust will move its use-case tracking fully into SAP LeanIX solutions.
